Health Quality Measures Systems and Methods
Publication/Patent Number: US2012065998A1 Publication Date: 2012-03-15 Application Number: 13/234,999 Filing Date: 2011-09-16 Inventor: George, Jibu   Rosenberger, Bryan   Jarvis, Charlie   Assignee: NEXTGEN HEALTHCARE INFORMATION SYSTEMS, INC.   IPC: G06Q50/24 Abstract: Systems and methods of exchanging Healthcare Quality Measures (HQM) are disclosed. Healthcare providers can define one or more HQMs by constructing expressions using an expression builder according to a funding organization's requirements. The expression builder advantageously allows the Healthcare provider to build measure expressions without the need to know a complex programming language. Once a measure is derived, it can be converted to a common HQM data format and exchanged with the organization via an intermediary HQM service. The HQM data can then be converted into the organization's proprietary format. Thus, HQM data exchanges among providers and organizations are simplified.

Systematic Rule-Based Workflow Tasking and Event Scheduling
Publication/Patent Number: US2012203589A1 Publication Date: 2012-08-09 Application Number: 13/060,148 Filing Date: 2010-07-26 Inventor: Eggena, Timothy   Puckett, Steve   Harmantas, Jonathan   Hale, Robert   Assignee: NEXTGEN HEALTHCARE INFORMATION SYSTEMS, INC.   IPC: G06Q10/06 Abstract: A workflow management system is presented. The workflow management system can include a tasking module and rules engine. Users can interface with the tasking module to define tasks having rule-based task criteria. The rules engine monitors data associated with running a business, including data classified across business segments, to determine if an exception to the task criteria has occurred. If so, the tasking module can automatically generate an exception task to handle the exception and present exception tasks to one or more users.

Electronic Medical Record Distribution, Systems and Methods
Publication/Patent Number: US2011282688A1 Publication Date: 2011-11-17 Application Number: 13/085,046 Filing Date: 2011-04-12 Inventor: Raggousis, Konstantinos   Assignee: NEXTGEN HEALTHCARE INFORMATION SYSTEMS, INC.   IPC: G06Q50/00 Abstract: Systems and methods for distributing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) from a private practice to authorized mobile devices are presented. EMR data can be exchanged from a private practice with a remote mobile device via an intermediary mobile access service. The service can include one or more servers that tunnel EMR data between the mobile devices and the practice, where a relay server located at the service communicates via an a priori instantiated persistent session with a relay client installed at the practice. The persistent session can be maintained by the relay client thus reducing the burden on the practice to configure or change local network infrastructure.

Publishing Templates Having Practice Defined Triggers
Publication/Patent Number: US2011276349A1 Publication Date: 2011-11-10 Application Number: 13/104,372 Filing Date: 2011-05-10 Inventor: Huang, Boan   Dimauro, Anthony M.   Dubinsky, Benjamin   Assignee: Nextgen healthcare information systems inc   IPC: G06Q50/00 Abstract: A healthcare management system is presented where the management system can include a data routing engine configured to route patient data to various authorized providers as a function of one or more trigger rules. The routing engine can operate as a web portal, through which clients of system can define medical form templates, where a template can include one or more triggering rules that cause further action to take place. When a patient interfaces to the web portal, the portal can render a medical form for the patient based on the template. As the patient interacts with the form, including entering their patient data, the routing engine can determine if any triggering criteria have been satisfied. If so, further actions can place including routing the data to authorized entities or providing notifications.

Use Of Restricted Links To Send Medical Records Data To Recipients
Publication/Patent Number: US2010121657A1 Publication Date: 2010-05-13 Application Number: 12/598,636 Filing Date: 2008-05-27 Inventor: Rosenberger, Bryan   George, Jibu   Assignee: NEXTGEN HEALTHCARE INFORMATION SYSTEMS, INC   IPC: G06Q50/00 Abstract: Methods of aggregating and distributing medical records are presented. Patient data is aggregated from one or more medical providers where the patient data is incomplete with respect to a medical data exchange record (MDER). A data repository, preferrably a third party relative to the providers or a recipient of the data, stores the patient data. When a recipient requests the patient data and is properly authenticated, the patient data is presented to the recipient in standard MDER format. Preferrably, the recipient accesses the data via a limit session link.

Methods And Apparatus For Responding To Request For Clinical Information
Publication/Patent Number: US2010036679A1 Publication Date: 2010-02-11 Application Number: 12/519,245 Filing Date: 2007-12-20 Inventor: Rosenberger, Bryan   Eggena, Timothy   Nary, Robert   Hale, Robert   Cline, Patrick   Ellis, Robert   Assignee: NEXTGEN HEALTHCARE INFORMATION SYSTEMS, INC.   IPC: G06Q50/00 Abstract: A hub-spoke patient information service in which a patient's data can be obtained from a network of independent data sources through a centralized service. The hub of the service stores patient identification information and the spokes store the patient's clinical data. In a preferred embodiment, the spokes are independent sources (e.g. each spoke is generally unrelated to other spokes) and include hospitals, doctor offices, clinics, insurance companies, or other entities that store or track clinical data. Preferably, the data sources use a first authentication to properly identify or authentic the service. Once access is granted, the spoke sources are queried for the patient's data. In response, each data source provides the type of patient data available from the source. The user is shown the types of data available without generally showing the actual data. The user can then select the specific patient data to retrieve from the spoke sources.

Clinical Guidelines Engine
Publication/Patent Number: US2010211402A1 Publication Date: 2010-08-19 Application Number: 12/377,301 Filing Date: 2008-01-03 Inventor: Eggena, Timothy   Rosenberger, Bryan   Hale, Robert   Nary, Robert   Ellis, Robert   Cline, Patrick   Assignee: NEXTGEN HEALTHCARE INFORMATION SYSTEMS, INC.   IPC: G06Q10/00 Abstract: A medical guideline integration engine is presented. The engine imports medical guideline information from disparate sources based on various guideline standards into a knowledge base. The knowledge base houses the information in a database. Upon request, the engine retrieves the information from the knowledge base and converts the information into a desired guideline format.

Clinical Data Monitoring
Publication/Patent Number: US2010169355A1 Publication Date: 2010-07-01 Application Number: 12/438,085 Filing Date: 2007-08-29 Inventor: Rosenberger, Bryan   Eggena, Timothy   Nary, Robert   Hale, Robert   Cline, Patrick   Ellis, Robert   Assignee: NextGen Healthcare Information Systems Inc.   IPC: G06F17/30 Abstract: Data is combined from multiple independent data stores, and is then queried using a data correlation engine. Contemplated engines preferably keep track of previously run correlations, and then makes those correlations available to clinicians for their own use. For example, a preferred system might provide a listing of correlations run by other clinicians in a particular medical specialty, or a particular community, whether geographic or otherwise. In another example, a preferred system might provide a listing of correlations sorted by popularity, so that the most frequently accessed correlations appear near the top of the list. In any case a clinician could simply view the list, and check off which correlations he/she would like to have run for his/her practice, or practice community.
