Die Leistungsübertragungsvorrichtung hat: ein gestuftes variables Getriebe; ein erstes Drehelement; ein zweites Drehelement; ein drittes Drehelement; ein viertes Drehelement; einen ersten Umscshaltmechanismus; einen zweiten Umschaltmechanismus; und einen dritten Umschaltmechanismus. Das gestufte variable Getriebe hat: eine erste Welle; eine zweite Welle parallel zu der ersten Welle; eine Vielzahl von Gangstufen, die jeweils ein Antriebszahnrad und ein Abtriebszahnrad haben und voneinander verschiedene Übersetzungsverhältnisse haben, wobei das Antriebszahnrad durch die erste Welle gedreht wird und wobei das Abtriebszahnrad mit dem Antriebszahnrad direkt oder über einen Mitläufer eingreift, um die zweite Welle zu drehen; und einen Auswahlmechanismus, der eine der Gangstufen auswählt, wobei das gestufte variable Getriebe eine Drehung der ersten Welle zu der zweiten Welle über die Gangstufe überträgt, die durch den Auswahlmechanismus ausgewählt ist.
