Abstract: Internal electrodes, a protective film, and protective films covering the top parts of internal electrode sides of lead wires are formed on a top surface of a substrate of a temperature sensor element, thereby making the overall shape a quadrangular prism and the transverse cross-section nearly a square even at any portion in the axial direction. A heating part of the temperature sensor element is provided near the center along the length, the height, and the width of the element, thereby preventing deviation of heat generation and stabilizing heat release to the lead wires. This allows the temperature sensor element to suppress fluctuation in detected temperatures due to mounting angle. Abstract: Provided is a short rubber reinforcement fiber for short fiber-containing rubber compositions that are used for transmission belts for which friction transmission behavior has been stabilized and travel service life has been further improved. The present invention is a short fiber, which is the product of cutting an adhesive-treated synthetic long fiber multifilament yarn and is used by dispersing in a rubber composition, the short fiber being characterized in that the percentage of the number of non-adhesive-treated single yarns is 0-5%; and a method for manufacturing said short fibers, the method comprising a step for immersing a sudare-woven product in which the synthetic long fiber multifilament yarns have been sudare-woven in an adhesive treatment solution and then pressing at a nip pressure of 1.2-5.0 MPa using nip rolls, and a step for cutting the sudare-woven product bundles obtained to a specified length. Abstract: A protective film (27, 29) is formed on the top side of the substrate (21) of a temperature sensor element (10) so as to cover the internal electrodes (25a, 25b), a resistance film (23), and the top surfaces of the internal electrode side of the lead wires (15a, 15b). The whole body has a quadrangular prism shape, and the transverse cross-section is approximately square even at any portion in theaxial direction.
