Abstract: The present invention relates to a corrugated product comprising a corrugated substrate, having a top surface and a bottom surface, laminated with a sheet material on its top and/or bottom surface. The substrate is selected from the group consisting of low-density polyethylene foam, high-density polyethylene film, low-density polyethylene film, polypropylene, Nylon 6,6, Nylon 6, paper, craft paper or Cotton Paper. The sheet material is selected from the group consisting of paper, polyethylene film, foil, low density polyethylene foam, high density polyethylene film, low density polyethylene film, polypropylene, Nylon 6,6, Nylon 6, paper, craft paper, Cotton Paper. The sheet material can have a pressure sensitive adhesive and backing paper applied to the side of the sheet not attached to the substrate. The present invention is suitable for providing cushioning and protection when wrapping furniture, molded into shapes to encapsulate a product being shipped, die cut and made into boxes or made into padded envelopes or pouches. Abstract: An artificial shingle adapted for mounting on substantially any roof surface (e.g., spaced slat- or solid sheathing-type construction) whereupon conventional shingles might alternatively be mounted, wherein the artificial shingle provides superior cost, wear, fire resistance, weight, or other characteristics while presenting a substantially realistic appearance and resemblance to a natural material (e.g., slate, cedar). The artificial shingle comprises a top surface and a bottom surface. A lower top exposure portion of the top surface and an upper bottom exposure portion of the bottom surface are both provided (e.g., stamped, molded, imprinted) with a relief or three-dimensional pattern substantially resembling the natural material of which conventional shingles are constructed. Abstract: Provided is a magnetic disk capable of reducing waves and realizing a high recording density. A main surface of the disk is made from a silicate glass substrate and has a magnetic recording layer and a shaft at its central portion. The sodium ions of the main surface of the disk are replaced with potassium ions so that the potassium ion concentration increases toward an outer circumference of the disk and the strength or rigidity of the disk increases accordingly toward the outer circumference of the disk. Abstract: Coextrusion of multiple polymeric components into a single layer cast film is relatively common in the art. Often, multiple polymeric flow streams are combined in a die or feedblock in a layered fashion to provide a top to bottom multilayer film. The diverse polymer flowsteams are typically combined in a feedblock section or the like and then flow in a layered configuration into a conventional coat hanger die arrangement, where the flowstreams flatten out into a film-like flowstream and are extruded onto a casting roll or the like. This arrangement creates films where the polymers form into layers in the thickness dimension. Abstract: Tool rolls and methods of using the tool rolls to manufacture articles with one or more structured surfaces are disclosed. The tool rolls include an outer surface that, when used in connection with materials of the proper viscosity or formability, can form a structured surface on an article. Because the tools are manufactured in roll-form, they can be advantageously used in continuous manufacturing processes. Alternatively, discrete articles may be processed using the tool rolls. The tool rolls are constructed of a cylindrical base roll and are wrapped with one or more continuous wires in a helical pattern. The wires are used, in essence, to form a structured surface on the tool roll that is the negative of the structured surface to be formed on the articles processed using the tool roll. One of the wires wound around the base roll may include depressions formed therein that, when wound in helical coils about the base roll, form cavities on the outer surface of the tool roll. Alternatively, the helical pattern of one or more wound wires may be used to form a continuous helical structured surface, e.g., a helical groove or grooves. Abstract: The present invention provides an unvulcanized rubber member for tire manufacturing. The member forms at least a portion of a green tire, and features: multiple rib-protrusions that extend in a direction corresponding to a circumferential direction of the tire, and multiple grooves that extend in a direction corresponding to a radial direction of the tire and intersect the rib-protrusions.
