Abstract: A vehicle part or component includes a surface that is configured to contact a fuel containing ethanol. The surface has a layer of non-hydrogenated diamond like carbon (NH-DLC) material disposed on the surface. The layer of NH-DLC has a thickness of from greater than or equal to about 100 nm to less than or equal to about 100 μm. The NH-DLC material has a carbon content of greater than or equal to about 90 atomic % (at. %), a carbon-carbon sp3 hybrid bond content of from greater than or equal to about 60% to less than or equal to about 100%, and a carbon-carbon sp2 hybrid bond content of from greater than or equal to about 0 to less than or equal to about 40%. The NH-DLC material is substantially free of hydrogen atoms. Methods for manufacturing the vehicle part or component are also provided. Abstract: A fuel delivery assembly for an internal combustion engine, including an injector cup, a fuel injector received therein, and a spring clip is disclosed. The injector cup has a circumferential wall with an external shoulder. The fuel injector has a shoulder which is axially spaced apart from the injector cup. The spring clip has a base portion with two radially compliant webs bearing against the shoulder of the circumferential wall and being in force-fit engagement with the circumferential wall. Abstract: A filter for a fuel injection system includes a body that defines a longitudinal axis, a first end face, a second end, an outer surface extending between the first end face and the second end, an inner surface defining an inner chamber closed at the first end face and open at the second end. The body also defines at least one perforated portion formed in the outer surface extending from the outer surface to the inner surface, at least one slot extending axially along the outer surface. Abstract: A nozzle plate is to be attached to a fuel injection port of a fuel injection device and injects fuel from the fuel injection port into an intake pipe through nozzle holes. The outlet side openings of the nozzle holes are partially blocked by interference bodies to determine the fuel injection directions and form orifices for reducing flows of the fuel at the outlet side openings. The plurality of orifices have different fuel injection directions, fuel fine particles in sprays draw ambient air, and the drawn air is provided with kinetic momentum to generate a spiral air flow. Abstract: An object of the invention is to achieve sufficient atomization, while preventing a spray from spreading. A fuel injection valve includes a plurality of swirl fuel injection passages. Each of the swirl fuel injection passages includes a swirl chamber, a swirl chamber introduction passage, and an orifice and imparts a swirling force to fuel to thereby inject the fuel outside. A rectangular coordinate system is imagined on an imaginary plane. The rectangular coordinate system has a center of an inlet opening surface of the orifice as an origin and has an X-axis extending in parallel with a centerline of the swirl chamber introduction passage and being positive in a direction from an upstream side toward a downstream side of the swirl chamber introduction passage and a Y-axis extending perpendicularly to the X-axis and being positive in a direction away from the centerline.
