Abstract: Data is recorded in a first part PA1 in accordance with a signal format same as that of an existing CD at the lower limit (1.5 μm) of an allowable value of a Wreck pitch and the lower limit (1.2 m/sec) of a linear velocity. As a result, the data for the maximum regeneration time (74.7 min) can be recorded in the first part PA1. An existing CD reproducing apparatus can reproduce the audio data recorded in the first part PA1 with no problem. Moreover, compressed and encrypted audio data is recorded in a second part PA2 at a single density or a double density. The single density represents a recording density same as that of an existing CD and the double density represents a density two time larger than the single density. Furthermore, the audio data recorded in the second part PA2 is charged when reproduced in order to protect copyrights. The format of the data recorded in the second part PA2 uses the format of a CD-ROM. Abstract: A molding and film forming apparatus 700 molds a disc substrate from a stamper 330 formed from an optical disc disc-master 320 and forms a coating film, for example, a reflective film onto the disc substrate, thereby forming a recorded optical disc 360. A postscript apparatus 200 writes postscript information once onto an optical disc 340 formed by the molding and film forming apparatus 700. As postscript information, a laser beam is irradiated to a predetermined interval of the optical disc 340, a portion which is detected as a pit is formed, and an optical disc 350 on which postscript information 420 has been recorded is formed. Identification information which enables each optical disc 340 to be identified can be postscribed. Abstract: The present invention relates to a disk recording and/or reproducing apparatus in which a disk-like recording medium such as an optical disk is transported between a disk loading portion provided for recording and/or reproducing information and a disk unloading portion for inserting and ejecting the disk-like recording medium. The disk recording and/or reproducing apparatus includes a pair of transport members for holding a disk-like recording medium in its diametrical direction, a drive means for driving a first transport member of the pair of transport members and giving rotation force to rotate and move the disk-like recording medium held between the pair of transport members and a space adjusting mechanism capable of adjusting a space by making the pair of transport members become close to or away from each other in response to the size of the disk-like recording medium. The disk-like recording medium can reliably be held in the diametrical direction by adjusting a space between the pair of transport members with the space adjusting mechanism in response to the size of the disk-like recording medium and the disk-like recording medium can be rotated, moved and transported by rotation force applied thereto. Therefore, when the disk is transported, the signal recording surface can be free from being touched, the signal recording surface can be prevented from being pressed by foreign material and the signal recording surface can be prevented from being scratched by the foreign material.
