Abstract: Yarns comprising fibers comprising a fluorinated polyester blend are prepared by melt blending a fluorovinyl ether functionalized polyester with a non-fluorinated polyester. Abstract: Copolymers which are composed of at least 4 monomers, including (meth)acrylate compounds containing perfluoroalkyl groups, are suitable for the treatment of fiber materials. The copolymers are usually used here in the form of aqueous dispersions. The fiber materials are in particular fabrics, for example made of polyolefin. Treatment with the copolymers imparts to them oil- and water-repellent properties and also repellent properties toward low molecular weight alcohols. Abstract: Provided is a process for advantageously producing spherical particles of furfuryl alcohol resin without irradiating the reaction system with ultrasonic waves and without using a harmful aldehyde as a starting material. In the process, furfuryl alcohol is subjected to resinification and curing to form spherical fine particles of furfuryl alcohol resin. More specifically, the furfuryl alcohol is subjected to a self-condensation with an acid catalyst having a pKa of less than 1.5 in the presence of a protective colloid and then heated for curing to form spherical particles of furfuryl alcohol resin. Abstract: An alloy for use as a welding overlay for boiler tubes in a low NOx coal-fired boiler comprising in % by weight: 36 to 43% Cr, 0.2 to 5.0% Fe, 0-2.0% Nb, 0-1% Mo, 0.3 to 1% Ti, 0.5 to 2% Al, 0.005 to 0.05% C, 0.005 to 0.020% (Mg+Ca), 0-1% Mn, 0-0.5% Si, less than 0.01% S, balance substantially Ni and trace additions and impurities. The alloy provides exceptional coal ash corrosion resistance in low partial pressures of oxygen. The alloy also increases in hardness and in thermal conductivity at service temperature over time. The increased hardness improves erosion resistance of the tubes while the increased thermal conductivity improves the thermal efficiency of the boiler and its power generation capabilities. Abstract: A housing is provided which includes an aluminum or aluminum alloy substrate, an aluminum layer and a corrosion resistant layer formed on the aluminum or aluminum alloy substrate in that order. The corrosion resistant layer is an Al—C—N layer. Then, La ions is implanted in the Al—C—N layer by ion implantation process.
